jay & Jenny
When Jay and Jenny Collins purchased The Spot in September 2025, they weren't simply buying a coffee shop, they were embracing an opportunity to serve their community. As followers of Jesus Christ, Jay and Jenny believe hospitality is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways to love people. Their motto, “Grateful for every cup,” is about more than the delicious drink inside the cup – it’s about the people they find holding it.
Their desire is that every guest who walks through the doors finds more than just a great cup of coffee. They hope The Spot is a place where conversations happen naturally, friendships grow, families gather and everyone feels genuinely welcome.
Jay and Jenny also emphasize family. Together, they've raised four wonderful children and have now proudly entered their Grandparent Era. Their daughter, Olivia, landed her first job at The Spot in 2023 and now serves as The Spot's store manager, helping lead the team each day and making the shop a true family business.
Now, you may be wondering how they ended up owning a coffee shop. Well ... imagine combining a librarian with an early childhood education degree and a carpenter with a mild pickleball addiction. You would expect the next logical challenge is coffee! In reality, The Spot is a perfect convergence of their individual giftedness. Jenny has a talent for making people feel seen, heard and cared for. Jay spent years in carpentry and has discovered that building relationships is just as rewarding as building houses. If you've met him, you already know he has never met a stranger.
As for favorite drinks? Jenny's go-to order is a miel, and Jay enthusiastically recommends the Lavender Dream with Cayenne Cold Foam. (Yes, that's a real thing. Yes, he orders it on purpose.)
